10th Anniversary Conference of the BioSkaner Laboratory

On April 28, 2025, a conference was held at the Białystok Science and Technology Park to mark the 10th anniversary of the BioSkaner Laboratory. As a center specializing in advanced diagnostic imaging using hybrid PET/MR technology, the Laboratory plays a significant role in innovative medicine both in Poland and across Europe.

Among the attendees were, among others: the Mayor of Białystok, Tadeusz Truskolaski; Vice-Rector for Digital Medicine and Clinical Research, Prof. Adam Krętowski, MD, PhD; and Head of the Independent Laboratory of Molecular Imaging and Technology Development, Dr. Małgorzata Mojsak, MD.

The conference served as an opportunity to summarize the Laboratory’s achievements over the past decade, with particular emphasis on the role of PET/MR technology in medical diagnostics. By combining positron emission tomography (PET) with magnetic resonance imaging (MR), it has become possible to obtain highly precise functional and anatomical data, significantly improving diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning.

During the event, numerous scientific and R&D achievements of the Laboratory were also presented. Over the past ten years, we have completed more than 20 projects, including the PROSPETMR study, which has enabled more effective therapy planning for prostate cancer patients. Our Laboratory also actively participates in national initiatives such as “Białystok+,” aimed at improving the health of Białystok’s residents.

One of the key accomplishments is the implementation of radiopharmaceutical production, which is crucial in PET diagnostics. BioSkaner Laboratory is one of the few centers in Poland that produces radiopharmaceuticals such as [⁶⁸Ga]Ga-PSMA-11. This capability allows for PET/MR examinations of exceptional precision.

To celebrate our anniversary, we also announced a unique initiative – 100 free PET/MR scans for children from across Poland. The goal of this campaign is to provide young patients with access to advanced diagnostics, particularly for the detection of cancers and other serious illnesses.

The international scope of our activities was also emphasized during the conference. The results of our research are regularly published in renowned scientific journals and cited by research institutions worldwide, which confirms the quality and impact of our work.

By combining cutting-edge technology with clinical practice, the BioSkaner Laboratory remains a leader in diagnostic imaging in Poland. Through our innovations and advanced diagnostic methods, we contribute to tangible improvements in patient quality of life. On the occasion of our 10th anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering top-tier diagnostic services and supporting the advancement of future medicine.
